The Ask
We partnered with Nike to create a digital tool that allows users to fully customize their running gear. Our goal was to turn each runner’s data (body measurements, location, distance, time, and pace) into a garment made just for them.
The Solution
We designed an interactive customization experience that uses each runner’s data to generate a tailored garment. As runners enter details about their body, location, and training habits, the system adapts in real time.
Beyond the garment, a key part of our work was to create a clear, repeatable visual system that engineers could use to generate a custom data portrait for each runner—turning their habits, environment, and performance into visual art.
We took inspiration for the visual style from scientific journals. The interface was designed to feel trustworthy and open to exploration, using black-and-white line work, paper textures, and clean layouts to give the sense of joining a Nike-led study.
The final result is a customization tool that blends performance, data, art, and design—allowing runners not only to wear a product built for them, but also to see themselves reflected in it.
